Big D and I are leaving this afternoon to the church's state campground for a Bible seminar on 1 Timothy. 1 Timothy is Paul's letter to Timothy. Timothy probably wrote Paul a letter asking if he could leave Ephesus to rejoin Paul. Paul responded with this letter, 1 Timothy, in which he instructed Timothy to stay in Ephesus and continue his ministry there until he could rejoin him there.
My favorite verse in 1 Timothy is 1 Timothy 6:12 "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." That is what we all have to do in this life "Fight the good fight of faith". Sometimes that is what it feels like in this world today, like we have to fight to be moral God loving people. But as we know, it will all be worth it because we will recieve eternal life with Jesus!
